Manchester United loanee Marcus Rashford has dropped an immediate selection hint after joining Aston Villa on loan until the end of the season.

The 27-year-old made the move across the Premier League to join rivals Villa on a temporary basis with an option to buy United's Academy graduate in the summer. It has been a difficult number of months for the attacker after finding himself frozen out of the squad. Rashford departed Old Trafford on the eve of deadline day, last making an appearance for the club on December 12 in the Europa League, when he was replaced with United trailing against Czech Republic opponents Viktoria Plzen.

Already, he's back in training with his new club as he looks to fire his way into Unai Emery's plans and kick-start his career after struggling. He posted on his Instagram stories in action for the West Midlands club and he could make his debut for the club in this weekend's FA Cup fourth round tie against Tottenham Hotspur.

Despite United already playing in the competition, beating Arsenal on penalties to book a tie against Leicester City on Friday night, Rashford was left out of the matchday squad that won in North London just last month.

"They're a club that's in a good position in the league and pushing to get higher, and still in the Champions League, good manager, ambitious manager, great talent in the squad," explained Rashford after joining Villa.

"I've had to choose somewhere where my style of football is suited and can help them and help me rediscover and improve as a player, its only short term and I want to make the most of my time here.

"The biggest competition for the club to be involved in and always great nights, so it'll be a new experience for me playing for Villa in the Champions League but like I said it's always going to be a great moment but the aims will be the same to try our best to win it."
