Marcus Rashford's Manchester United future is the subject of fresh speculation after the forward admitted he's ready for a "new challenge" away from Old Trafford.

The 27-year-old England international was left out of United's squad for their Premier League win at Manchester City on Sunday afternoon, with head coach Ruben Amorim explaining that eye-catching decision publicly, during his pre-match interview.

And just days after he watched Bruno Fernandes and Amad secure a dramatic derby win, at the Etihad Stadium, Rashford hinted that his time at United could now be coming to an end.

Rashford said: "For me, personally, I think I'm ready for a new challenge and the next steps.

"When I leave it's going to be; 'No hard feelings'. You're not going to have any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That's me as a person.

"If I know that a situation is already bad, then I'm not going to make it worse. I've seen how other players have left in the past and I don't want to be that person. When I leave, I'll make a statement and it will be from me."

Here, we take a closer look at the latest news, views and rumours surrounding Rashford's future;

Why did Amorim drop Rashford vs Man City?

After United's come-from-behind win against City at the weekend, Amorim insisted that the decision to omit Rashford - and teammate Alejandro Garnacho - from the squad was not a disciplinary one, though it was made after evaluating all aspects of the pair's efforts.

"When people in the club are losing their jobs, we have to push our standards really high," said Amorim. "Next week, next game, new life, they are fighting for their places but for me it's important, the performance in training, the performance in game, the way you dress, the way you eat, the way you engage with teammates, the way you push your teammates, everything is important when we want to change a lot of things.

"They have to fight for a place in the team and today the team proved we can leave anyone out of the squad and manage to win if you play together."

What did Rashford say after Man Utd beat Man City?

Despite being left out of the squad, Rashford took to Instagram to celebrate his team's famous win at the Etihad Stadium, posting on Instagram: "Yesssssssss! Love it lads."

What has Rashford said about his future at Man Utd?

Apart from that bombshell interview with Henry Writer, Rashford has been (fairly) coy about his future at United, having signed a new long-term contract with the club in 2023.

But when speaking with Winter, though, the England international said: "For me, personally, I think I'm ready for a new challenge and the next steps.

Who could sign Rashford from Man Utd?

French champions PSG have, even tentatively, been linked with a move for Rashford over recent years whenever his future at United has been the subject of speculation.

However, The Daily Mail claims that any talk of Rashford moving to the Parc des Princes in the New Year are wide of the mark, especially rumours of a swap deal involving France international Randal Kolo Muani.

It's claimed that United would be willing to part ways with Rashford for £40million.

What has Amorim said about Rashford's comments?

Speaking in his pre-Tottenham Hotspur press conference on Wednesday morning, Amorim said: "I think it's right [being at United is a challenge].

"We have here a new challenge. It's a tough one, for me it's the biggest challenge in football because we are in a difficult situation and I already said this is one of the biggest clubs in the world.

"This is a really new challenge and the biggest one. I really hope all my players are ready for this new challenge.

"No, [I haven't spoken to Rashford] yet. It was yesterday, I gave the day off to the lads, so he's our player and he's ready for the next game."

Amorim went on: "I spoke with a lot of players, individually, and during training. What I want is to take the best stuff of Marcus Rashford as the player so I don't talk about the future, I just talk about the present.

"I want the best of each one of them and that's the key point for me. I just want to win and to help the team be better. We are better with Marcus Rashford, that is simple and we will try different things to push Marcus to the best levels he showed in the past. And that's all.

"Of course [Amorim would want Rashford to stay], because this kind of club needs big talent and he's a big talent. So he just needs to perform at the highest level and that's my focus. I just want to help Marcus."
