After it was revealed that Aston Villa have completed a dramatic loan signing of Marcus Rashford from Manchester United until the end of the season here's what fans have to say on the big name move.

Although for much of the January transfer window it looked as though Rashford may move to the Camp Nou to join Barcelona, a last-second deal to bring him to Birmingham shocked many Villa fans as he was announced late last night.

The 27-year-old emerged as a key target for Unai Emery following the £65m sale of Jhon Duran to Al-Nassr with the loan move also including an option to buy the forward for £40 million in the summer.

Reacting to the club's post on X more than a thousand fans jumped to give their views.

One fan excited for Rashford to start said: "A hungry Rashford with a point to prove? That’s a dangerous weapon in any squad. United might regret this one."

With widespread rumours of Ollie Watkins moving to Arsenal, one fan thought Rashford may even be an improvement up-top, they said "I actually think he is a better clinical finisher than Ollie. Maybe the stats will prove me wrong. I look forward to him playing Emery ball."

A Manchester United fan also chipped in sad to see the forward go, he said: "As a Manchester United fan, I just want Rashford to get back to his best, and play Football with a smile on his face again. I wish him well at Villa Park. A change of scenery could be just what the 27-year-old needs."
