Marcus Rashford transfer might pave the way for Liverpool £42m surprise in January
Where Marcus Rashford ends the month of January remains to be seen. Might it be Germany? Or Italy? There is even the possibility a deal fails to come to fruition, so Manchester United are left with the problem to resolve in summer...
Rumours have stepped up regarding the Man United striker since he admitted he was ready for 'a new challenger'. MEN Sport have already reported that he has personally turned down offers up to £35m a year to play in Saudi Arabia.
And elsewhere it has been claimed that Rashford's brother and agent, Dwaine Maynard, has flown out to conduct initial talks over a possible switch to AC Milan.

On their list to visit are also Borussia Dortmund, who have similarly been linked with taking the England international either on loan for the remainder of the campaign or permanently.
The German club present an interesting opportunity for both Man United and Rashford. For one, it would help the selling club get one big earner out the door which would help kickstart Ruben Amorim's revival job at Old Trafford.
Another way of looking at will be the attacker gets his wish, finding new surroundings - especially where English talent has thrived in recent years.
Jadon Sancho is one example, performing before his underwhelming Man United career and then on loan for the second half of last season. Jude Bellingham too - moved from Birmingham City, now look at where his career has gone.
And there is also another. Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, who has been tearing it up this term with nine goals and three assists in all competitions.
What Man United may not have foreseen with Rashford's potential move to the Bundesliga is that he will directly compete for a place with the talented winger, which either in this transfer window or the next presents Dortmund with the ideal time to cash in on a player Europe's top clubs are said to be tracking.
As covered by our colleagues at the Liverpool ECHO, Man United's bitter rivals at Anfield are just one suitor in the mix.
It is claimed they have sent scouts to track the progress of the 20-year-old former Manchester City youth. Four-and-a-half years after departing his home country, Man United may unwittingly help open the door for their rivals.
Bynoe-Gittens is currently valued at €50m (£41.7m) by Transfermarkt, owing to his obvious talent, years ahead of him and the fact he would have to be bought out of the final three-and-a-half years of his Dortmund contract.
Multiple reports are suggesting that Liverpool or another team may yet end up paying over the odds, were they so serious about completing the deal.
