Marcus Rashford's Man Utd bust-up could hold key to late Newcastle transfer twist
New Besiktas boss Ole Gunnar Solksjkaer is reportedly interested in making a sensational bid for Manchester United's Marcus Rashford - with Newcastle United-linked Semih Kilicsoy edging close to a move.
The Magpies are one of the clubs targeted by representatives of the young Turkish forward as he looks to take the next step in his career, after impressing in the Super Lig. A summer move is thought to be more likely, but Besiktas could make an audatious move to replace him this month.
Former Man United manager Solskjaer was only appointed as the new boss of the Istanbul club last week, and has already been linked with two raids on his former club. As well as Rashford, Besiktas have been credited with interest in Brazilian midfielder Casemiro, with Man United looking to cut their wage bill.

Rashford has been frozen out at Old Trafford under Ruben Amorim and it appears he has no future at the club while the Portuguese manager is in charge. He was not involved in Sunday's clash with Fulham, and Amorim admitted afterwards he would rather play his 63-year-old goalkeeping coach Jorge Vital.
"It's always the same reason (why Rashford is not playing)," Amorim said. "The reason is the training, what I think a footballer should do in training, in life and every day. If things don't change, I will not change. It's the same situation for every player. If you do the maximum and the right things then we can use every player. Today on the bench we missed a bit of pace to change the game but I prefer it like this, I will put in Vital before I put in a player who doesn't give the maximum every day, so I will not change in that department."
Whether Besiktas could afford Rashford's wages is extemely doubtful, however, but it does suggest they could be planning for life without Kilicsoy. As Lee Ryder reported last week, Newcastle are among a number of clubs to have been offered the chance to sign the 19-year-old, with a fee of around £16m likely to be enough to seal his signature.
United have indicated they are unlikely to spend in the January transfer window, but with Miguel Almiron set for a £10m return to Atlanta United, they could yet be tempted to make a signing before deadline day.
