Wolves midfielder Mario Lemina is reportedly closing in on a move to Galatasaray for £2.5million. The 31 year old, who previously enjoyed a loan spell with the same Turkish outfit, looks set to leave Molineux after two seasons, following Wolves' acceptance of the offered fee.

Galatasaray announced via X on Wednesday: "Official negotiations have begun with the player and his club Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club regarding the transfer of professional football player Mario Rene Junior Lemina."

They further noted, "It is respectfully announced to the public."

Although the January transfer window has closed for European countries, Turkey's window remains open until February 11. Since expressing his desire to depart and opting out of selection consideration to manager Vitor Pereira on January 6, Lemina hasn’t played for the team.

Despite hinting at a willingness to come back, Pereira declared he wouldn't select Lemina until his future was certain. This season has been tumultuous for the Gabonese player, who lost his role as Wolves captain in December after a post-match scuffle with West Ham's Jarrod Bowen that followed a defeat in London.
