Mark Robins makes 'I know what they want' vow in first words as Stoke City manager
Mark Robins has uttered his first words as Stoke City manager - and in doing so has made a pledge to supporters ahead of his first game in charge.
Robins has signed a three-and-a-half year contract at the bet365 Stadium and will be in the dugout for the first time for Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off against Plymouth Argyle.
And in his first interview since being appointed, he says: “This is a really good club. It's got good players, it’s got a great history and tradition.
“I watched the game against Sunderland the other day (a 1-0 victory for the Potters), and that epitomised what I think Stoke City supporters want. They're passionate. They know what they want to watch, and we'll endeavour to put that on the pitch for them.

"My ideal football is quick - quick attacks, fast play. I'm excited because the players that we have in the building are really good players. They've got some real talent amongst them.
“I want players to be themselves. I want them to be in positions where they can maximize their potential on the pitch.
“But this is a starting point, and again we need everybody together so I will be saying that quite a lot because it's really, really important. It's really key.
“Everybody's aligned in the football club, from the supporters all the way through.
“I'm looking forward to it. I think it's a really, really good club, a really good challenge and one I'm excited to take on.”
Robins will host his first press conference as Stoke boss at 4.15pm this afternoon.
