The 11pm deadline has been and gone and the January transfer window is over for another year.

Premier League clubs now no longer have another opportunity to strengthen their squads this season and all 20 teams will have to make do with what they have in the second half of the season.

But it has been a busy transfer window for Man City, as outgoing sporting director Txiki Begiristain ensured he left a lasting impression in his final act in the transfer market.

With a fifth successive Premier League title now out of the window, Pep Guardiola is beginning his City rebuild and they have signed no less than six players this month.

The deadline day arrival of Porto midfielder Nico Gonzalez should help to plug the gap left by Rodri's injury. The Spanish midfielder gives City much needed options in the middle of the park and he should make an immediate impact in the team.

Defenders Abdukodir Khusanov (20) and Vitor Reis (19) joined from Lens and Palmeiras respectively and are two signings made not only with the future in mind but to bolster City's squad in the here and now.

Eintracht Franfkurt forward Omar Marmoush, who scored 20 goals for the German outfit this season, was the marquee arrival for £59million.

The Egyptian international has been used on the left-hand side of the front three in his two appearances so far but he should help lift the goal burden on Erling Haaland.

Defender Juma Bah arrived from Real Valladolid and was immediately loaned out to French side Lens. Meanwhile, New York City confirmed that teenage left-back Christian McFarlane had also made the move to Manchester.

There were departures, too, and none were more notable than Kyle Walker's loan move to AC Milan. The City club captain asked to explore a move abroad and the Italian giants have an obligation to make the move permanent at the end of the season.

Young defenders Issa Kabore and Joshua Wilson-Esbrand also left the club on loan deals to Werder Bremen and Stoke City respectively.
