Queens Park Rangers head coach Marti Cifuentes has called on his side to keep up their impressive upturn in form as they prepare for Tuesday night's long trip to Hull City.

Twelve games ago, Rangers were at the foot of the Championship, but an impressive run of just one defeat in their last dozen outings has seen them move into the top 12 for the first time in two years.

Saturday's 1-0 win at Plymouth Argyle was their third on the spin and sees them just six points away from the top six, so congested in the second-tier table once again, giving the R's hope of an exciting second half of the season.

City were 3-1 winners at Loftus Road when the pair met back on October 1. But Rangers' recovery has been impressive in the months since and Cifuentes wants more of the same under the MKM Stadium lights on Tuesday evening.

“It’s very important to keep pushing – that’s where we can improve now," he said. "It was a solid performance from so many points of view, but we need to make sure we keep the ambition after scoring one goal.

“It’s not easy to find that balance, you don’t want to commit a lot of players when you’re under pressure. But it was important to keep a clean sheet and create the amount of chances that we created. We just need to make sure we keep pushing. It’s going to be another difficult game.”
