Martin Boyle was the target of a Rangers Union Bear sticker taunt and an X-rated mouthful in footage he shared online.

But the Hibs winger swiped back and had the last laugh just hours after his double helped the capital club come from behind twice to earn a share of the spoils against Philippe Clement's side in a six-goal thriller at Easter Road. The Premiership clash got underway at midday in Leith and not shy before half-time according to the time on his Ring doorbell footage, a Light Blues fan was captured at his door with the ultras sticker before shouting 'F*** the Hibs'

Post-match Boyle shared the short video clip to his Instagram account and fired back at the punter while laughing off the incident by writing: ""Not fancy watching the game son? Nah, I'll just walk about with Union Bear stickers." His post was accompanied by five laughing emojis.

The person in question was wearing a blue face covering with a Rangers beanie hat visible. After his stunt he could be seen walking down the driveway and out of shot. The clip appeared to have been shot in Boyle's video doorbell while he was in action at Easter Road, but he saw the funny side - particularly with his team nicking a late draw.

Back to matters on the pitch and boss David Gray was full of praise for the man with the captain's armband. He said: “That's something that I joke with Boyle quite a lot. When he joined the club, if you'd said to me that he's going to turn out to be a Hibs captain, one day I'd have laughed at you. Just because of the type of character he is.

“He won't take offence to that, that's just how he is. But he's someone that, in his performances over the years for this club, his efforts, he's matured into that role.

“It was something that I spoke to him a lot at the start of the season, about the next thing for him, which is to really show and lead by example. “I think you could clearly see that today, which is great.”
