Former Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount could reportedly face months on the sidelines after his latest injury blow.

The 25-year-old has had to battle with injuries since making the move from Stamford Bridge to Manchester United in the summer of 2023. Last season saw him miss a total of 31 games through injury with him missing 12 games so far this campaign.

Mount returned to action for United last month, but suffered another blow when he was forced off the field after just 14 minutes in the Manchester derby just over a week ago. Following the injury he took to social media to send a message.

"Words can’t portray how devastated I’m feeling right now, you could probably see the look on my face when it happened. I knew what it meant,” he wrote on Instagram.

“United fans, you may not know me too well yet, but one thing I can guarantee, I will never give up or lose faith. I’ve said this before, but I will continue to give everything, get through this tough period and won’t stop until that’s achieved.”

It is now reported by talkSPORT that the midfielder faces a lengthy spell out, and may not return to action until March. It comes after United boss Ruben Amorim confirmed that he would be out for ‘several weeks.’

"I don’t know the exact date, but it’s going to be for long,” he said ahead of last weekend’s clash vs Bournemouth. “And that’s it, it’s part of football and you continue."

Mount came up through the academy at Chelsea. He played a total of 195 times for the first team, scoring 33 goals before moving to Old Trafford 18 months ago for a fee of around £55 million.
