Matheus Cunha to Man United transfer latest amid 'record' offer Wolves star
Manchester United face missing out on Wolves star Matheus Cunha in the January transfer window following reports of a possible club-record bid from Nottingham Forest.
Cunha emerged back on to United's radar in December after previously being linked with a move to Old Trafford in the summer. The 25-year-old has scored 10 goals in 21 Premier League games this term despite Wolves fighting relegation.
Earlier this month, it was understood that Cunha would sign a new long-term deal at Molineux but that is now not the case. His current deal expires in 2027 but that hasn't stopped United and Arsenal from showing interest.

Both teams are desperate for reinforcements in attack but it seems as though Nottingham Forest are going to make the first move. Sky Sports have reported that the Champions League chasers are ready to make a club-record offer to sign the Wolves star.
A figure of around £60million is believed to be enough to tempt the Wanderers from selling their star player. The report goes on to explain how Cunha has been left upset that he was singled out by manager Vitor Pereira following Monday's defeat to Chelsea.
Even with their desperation for quality in attack, United's chances of signing Cunha are limited right now. £60m isn't a price that Sir Jim Ratclife or the Glazers are likely to sanction this month, but that may not be the case at the end of the season.
Wolves' resistance to keep Cunha for the remainder of the season to ensure they remain in the Premier League means any interested club will struggle to prise him away now. Whether they stay in the top flight or go down to the Championship, Cunha is incredibly likely to leave then.
However, should United be watching Forest beat them to one of their targets? The Reds are flying high this season under Nuno Espirito Santo but even with their struggles, a move to Old Trafford will almost certainly be preferred by the player.
