Matheus Cunha sends Man Utd new transfer message after dropping shock Wolves exit hint
Manchester United have been dealt a major blow to their hopes of signing Matheus Cunha ahead of the January transfer window. The 25-year-old forward has recently been linked with a move to Old Trafford following his impressive performances for Wolves.
Cunha, who sees his contract at Molineux expire in June 2027, has featured 16 times in the Premier League this season, scoring eight goals and providing three assists. Despite the Brazil international's best efforts, he's been unable to drag his side out of the bottom three.
While Wolves have been embroiled in a relegation scrap, Cunha has still managed to reportedly attract interest from some top clubs, including United. Earlier this month, he sparked speculation of a switch to Old Trafford after 'liking' a supporters' comment on Instagram.

Cunha was crowned the November player of the month at Wolves and, to celebrate the award, he posted a picture of himself holding a trophy on social media. Captioning the post, the forward wrote: "The only thing I can say is thank you. You will always have my best [wolf emoji and heart gesture emoji]."
The post eclipsed 30,000 likes and chalked up hundreds of comments, with one message standing out above all. Cunha 'liked' a comment from one wishful United fan, who wrote: "Manchester United soon [soon emoji]."
The Brazilian's social media activity ignited speculation of a potential move to United in January, but it appears as if his heart remains at Molineux. Cunha has reportedly since 'unliked' the comment and posted a cryptic message to his Instagram story.
As pictured above, Cunha uploaded a picture of himself in action for Wolves with a few telling emojis – a wolf, an infinite symbol and an orange heart – which would suggest he wants to stay. Speaking to the official club website last week, the Brazilian described Molineux as 'home'.
"I feel like it’s my home," said Cunha. "I feel the admiration of the fans, and this is something that I never believed I would get when I first came here, to a small city in England, which is completely different from my hometown – but now I feel like I’m at home.
"The fans are unbelievable with me, with my family, and I have only great things to say about my team-mates. But to go to the stadium and to perform for them is like I feel at home.
"I feel like I want to do everything I can to change the situation, because when you play with a little bit more passion, not as if it was just my work, then I think you put in a little bit more things that can change it."
Then, when asked how Wolves can transform their fortunes, Cunha replied: "It’s hard to say because we don’t have the honest or the correct things to say. If it was that easy, we would just do it! Football is much more complex than just going out onto the pitch.
"When you come here and work every single day, it’s these kinds of things which are important. The fans only look at what happens at the weekends, but what happens during the week is much bigger than this.
"If we are able to manage these whole things a little bit easier, then we’ll feel better when we go into the weekend, and we’ll be able to go to the pitch and show everyone that we are happy, and then do the best thing that we can do, which is play football."
