What Mathys Tel has said on his future as Chelsea transfer clue emerges
Chelsea have been linked with Bayern Munich striker Mathys Tel.
football.london understands the Blues have been in contact with Bayern Munich over a possible deal. The west London club have long been interested in the French youngster, having made an enquiry to sign him last summer.
Now, six months on, they have once again approached the German team to see if Tel is available for a transfer from the Allianz Arena in the January window. The Blues will make an offer for the forward should Bayern give Chelsea any sort of encouragement that the teenager is available this month.

The 19-year-old has previously declared his love for Bayern though, signalling that it may not be straight forward to prise him away from Bavaria.
"Of course I want to get better in Munich," he told Sky Sports Germany in August 2023. "I always want to learn, speak, work.
"In my mind there's only FC Bayern. Today I'm in Munich, playing for FC Bayern. Always FC Bayern, Mia San Mia"
Tel has struggled for game time at the Bundesliga giants, though, under Vincent Kompany this season. The Frenchman has made just 12 appearances across all competitions and is yet to play a full 90 minutes for Bayern in 2024/25.
At the time of penning a new contract at the Allianz in March last year, Bayern's sporting director shared these comments about Tel: "Every club wants players like Mathys Tel; young, extremely talented, hungry and willing to learn. The way he already plays at this level at the age of 18 is something special.
"We want the right mix in our squad, and Mathys plays an important role here. He knows what makes FC Bayern tick, he feels comfortable and at home here. Now we're taking the next steps together and are looking forward to the coming years with him."
However, Chelsea have not proposed or offered Christopher Nkunku as part of a swap deal with Bayern. The German side, though, are keen on signing the French international, who has only made three starting appearances in the Premier League for the Blues under head coach Enzo Maresca.
Nkunku is currently the club's joint-top scorer this season with 13 goals, matching Cole Palmer, but his league appearances have been sporadic. The Frenchman has essentially been used as a backup to Nicolas Jackson this season and is believed to be frustrated with his role in the squad.
