McAlester releases 2024 football schedule

Apr. 2—The Buffs are bracing for battle next fall.

McAlester released its 2024 football schedule, outlining the path through the next season for the Buffaloes.

Things will kick off in August as McAlester hits the road for its annual scrimmage against Wagoner. The Bulldogs will host the 2024 edition Aug. 23.

McAlester will open its 2024 regular season at home Aug. 30, taking on Broken Bow. The Buffaloes will then travel to take on Poteau in the first road game of the season Sept. 6.

The Buffaloes will play host to Ada in the annual rivalry game on Sept. 13, with the date also serving as McAlester's Hall of Fame game.

After taking a break with a bye week, McAlester will open up district play with a road contest against Durant Sept. 27.

The Buffs will host Coweta at home in the first game of October, while also welcoming Lil' Buff Cheer to the sidelines as they join their high school counterparts.

McAlester will then take to the highway for back-to-back road games in Tulsa Oct. 11 and 18 against Edison Prep and Bishop Kelley. The Buffaloes will then roam home for homecoming festivities Oct. 25 with a game against East Central.

Senior Night will be held on Nov. 1 as the Buffs host Sapulpa, while also celebrating the McAlester youth football league.

The Buffs will next close out the regular season on the road Nov. 8, facing off against Glenpool before getting prepared for postseason play.
