Michael Dunlop 'landed and ready' as he prepares for iconic race
Michael Dunlop has touched down in the USA ahead of competing at the Daytona 200. The iconic race meeting takes place in Florida from March 6-8 with the showpiece event on the 8th.
The Daytona 200 is one of the most iconic motorcycle races in the world, with speeds in excess of 150mph set over 200 miles on the banked-oval circuit at Daytona Beach.
There are four classes including the main Daytona Supersport class, SC Project Twins Cup, Roland Sands Mission Super Hooligan and the Mission King of the Baggers.
Ballymoney rider Dunlop will ride in the Supersport class. Also in the line-up will be familiar faces including Peter Hickman and Richard Cooper.
Dunlop - the most successful rider in Isle of Man TT history - will compete on the Milwaukee/MD Racing Ducati V2 Supersport machine. The 35-year-old - who tested a Ducati at the Jerez circuit in Spain in January - shared an image on his Instagram stories with the message: "Landed and ready."

It will be Dunlop's second appearance at the Daytona 200. In his only previous ride in 2021, he finished 11th on a Kawasaki 636.
This weekend's race will be the latest globe-trotting ride for Dunlop, who is also set to compete in the Le Mans 24-Hour round of the World Endurance Championship as part of Team LPR Poland on a BMW next month.
He will then turn his focus to the road racing season, including the North West 200 and then another tilt at extending his Isle of Man TT record at the end of May and start of June.
