Middlesbrough quickly returned to winning ways against Hull City on Saturday as they won 3-1 at the Riverside in a commanding performnce.

Getting the nod up top ahead of Emmanuel Latte Lath, Tommy Conway scored twice, adding to the returning Finn Azaz's excellent opener as Boro ensured that Hull's late fightback after Mason Burstow's goal was for nothing.

A solid display which meant they ensured the Blackburn Rovers defeat was just a blip, Boro now look forward to two big games away at Burnley and Leeds United. Here's how the Boro players rated.

Sol Brynn - 7

A solid defensive display meant Brynn didn’t have any saves to make but looked calm and confident in collecting a couple of dangerous crosses. Couldn’t do anything with the goal, but made a good save after Boro’s third to preserve the two-goal lead.

Anfernee Dijksteel - 6

Solid for the most part was misjudged the flight of the ball in the build-up to Hull’s goal as Kamara then got away from him to set up Burstow. He otherwise dealt so well with the pacey wideman.

Dael Fry - 7

In his first start since February, Fry was solid at the back. He won numerous headers and kept Boro in control, while also looking good on the ball in playing out from the back.

George Edmundson - 7

Another solid outing from Edmundson who had a really tough battle against the strong Joao Pedro up top for Hull. Avoided a yellow too, meaning he’s eligible for Burnley and has just one game to get through to avoid a five-yellows suspension.

Neto Borges - 5

Was fortunate to stay on the pitch in an early tussle with Joao Pedro as the striker ran through on goal and didn’t really recover from there. Struggled to get into the game from an attacking perspective and let Mason Burstow in at the back post ahead of him to score.

Dan Barlaser - 6

Composed throughout without needing to shine. He just stayed stable, allowing for Hackney to shine ahead of him.

Hayden Hackney - 8

A fantastic return to the side and he displayed the strengths that made him such a miss on Wednesday. Driving forward with the ball and passing through the lines well to get Azaz and Doak into dangerous areas throughout. His interception brought about the first goal too.

Ben Doak - 8

Another superb outing for Doak who provided two assists in very different ways. His first was a rare high cross as he showed the variety in his locker to execute and excellent chip to the back post. Having had so much success throughout on the counter, the ball into Conway’s feet for the killer third goal is probably the easiest assist he’ll earn in his whole career.

Finn Azaz - 8

Showed exactly why he was so missed on Wednesday with another display of penetration and superb link-up play. His class helped Doak shine again and his finish to get Boro up and running in the game was sheer class.

Delano Burgzorg - 7

Played his part with his direct style causing a nuisance and he was unlucky not to have got amongst the goals. He’s enjoying a really positive spell right now.

Tommy Conway - 9

Repaid Michael Carrick’s faith in him to give him the nod over Latte Lath with two very good goals - both excellent finishes at important stages too. Boro needed a second to take into the break as Hull responded well to going down. His second, meanwhile, killed the game off after Burstow’s goal gave Hull a route back in.
