Middlesbrough's new boxing golden girl as Hanna Holden takes European honour
A Middlesbrough boxing club struck gold at one of Europe’s leading female tournaments. Hanna Holden picked up another first place at the Golden Girl Boxing Championships in Sweden on the back of recent triumphs in Spain and Serbia.
She defeated three opponents at the event – including her good friend Gracie Rochester from neighbouring Billingham – and in the final 16-year-old Hanna overcame a tough opponent from the Czech Republic, winning all bouts convincingly to claim gold.
Gracie Hubbard, 14, made her international tournament debut and also faced three tough opponents throughout the event. After convincing wins in the quarter and semi-finals, Gracie secured her place in the finals.
