MIDDLESBROUGH have completed the signing of Josh Dede from Celtic.

The Scotland Under-19 international is a right-back but also comfortable playing further forward on the wing.

He has been involved with Celtic's B-Team since he made his debut when he was just 16, but was moving into the final six months of his contract with the Scottish champions.

And he's now completed a permanent move to Boro for a low fee that is understood to hinge on incentives. He'll initially join up with the Under-21s. He follows Brayden Johnson through the door this month, with the talented teenage midfielder having moved from Eastbourne Borough.

Dede has trained with Celtic's first team squad on a number of occasions and has played for Scotland at Under-16, 17 and 19 level.

After the arrival of Johnson last week, Boro boss Michael Carrick said: “As a club, we look at recruitment at different levels and different age groups. Sometimes it’s for the first team, sometimes it’s more about the long-term and development.

“It’s an important structure to keep that evolving all the way through and bringing young talent to the club who we think have good potential. That’s what we’re always looking out for."
