Midfielder dropped, Kulusevski in - The Tottenham XI Postecoglou must select at Sheffield United

Tottenham Hotspur winger Dejan Kulusevski

Tottenham Hotspur will close out their Premier League season with a trip to Sheffield United on Sunday.

Spurs played well against Manchester City on Tuesday night but ended up losing 2-0 and in doing so saw their chances of playing Champions League football next season vanish. Now Ange Postecoglou will end the campaign with a final day game at relegated Sheffield United, knowing that a point will secure a fifth place finish and Europa League football next season.

We asked our Tottenham reporters Alasdair Gold and Rob Guest to name the team they would like to see the Australian select for the game at Bramall Lane.

If Tottenham play as well as they did on Tuesday night but with better finishing then they will have enough to end their season with a victory.

The only player who might miss out who was available against City is Giovani Lo Celso, after the Argentine picked up a knock in the 10 minutes or so he was on the pitch against Pep Guardiola's side.

Elsewhere, the only change Postecoglou might make is Dejan Kulusevski coming in to the attack, which would then require one of the midfielders to drop back to the bench. That could be Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg as the Spurs boss starts to look towards next season and the players he will have then.

Keeping Micky van de Ven at left-back for one more match would allow Radu Dragusin to get another start after impressing against City.

Gold's team: Vicario; Porro, Romero, Dragusin, Van de Ven; Sarr, Bentancur, Maddison; Kulusevski, Son, Johnson.

Postecoglou could look to make a couple of changes to his Tottenham team for Sunday's final game of the season at Sheffield United. The Spurs boss has a decision to make in regards to the left-back position as playing Micky van de Ven in the role against Man City didn't bring the best out of the Dutchman.

That means Radu Dragusin's place in the team could possibly be at stake despite such a good showing against Pep Guardiola's side. A change could take place further up to pitch in order to bring Dejan Kulusevski into the Tottenham XI.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg could be the player to drop out in that case, thus seeing Spurs line up with Rodrigo Bentancur, Pape Matar Sarr and James Maddison in the middle of the park. Kulusevski would then join Brennan Johnson and Son Heung-min in attack.

Guest's team: Vicario; Porro, Romero, Dragusin, Van de Ven; Bentancur, Sarr, Maddison; Kulusevski, Son, Johnson.
