Miguel Almiron's agent has revealed that there are "offers" from "many places" for his services as the January transfer window continues, while Eddie Howe has insisted that his future is at Newcastle United - but Chronicle Live readers in our comments section would be happy to let him go for the right price, if it means kickstarting the club's transfer activity.

Almiron has not started a game for Newcastle since October, with minutes few and far between since then. He came on for the final quarter of an hour or so of Newcastle's Carabao Cup semi-final first-leg win at Arsenal on Tuesday night and the 30-year-old is in line to feature against Bromley at the weekend as Eddie Howe rotates his side.

The forward was spotted in Charles de Gaulle airport in France after being given time off to spend with his family, but speculation surrounded his trip. His agent, Daniel Campos, has revealed that Almiron has 'offers' from 'many places', though, including one from the MLS, but the Paraguayan stressed they were 'not official'.

"They are willing to transfer him if they are paid what they want," Campos told Radio Monumental AM 1080 in his homeland. "I don't know how much the amount is and we refer all the clubs that ask us."

If the right amount is met, some fans would be happy to let Almiron leave Newcastle United after being with the club since 2019. Reader KEGS11 writes: “If we can get anything north of £8 million to £10 million, we have to sell Miggy. He isn't playing, isn't good enough and we need funds for PSR/Transfers.” Commenter Aspri11a says: “Totally agree - if an offer of 8-10m comes in, then we should definitely sell.”

DurbanSkyslot doubts a move any time soon, though: “I don't think anyone will come into the club with the board seeing things going well and decide to gamble on getting through to the end of the season with what they have. If we are banking on Miggy and a few others leaving the club so we can move, then it is far more likely there will be no movement in or out. Hope I am wrong because it would be great if we could strengthen the squad while being on this upward curve.”

JohnHenderson is already frustrated by the pace of transfer rumours: “More than a week into the transfer window and, as in previous windows, a woeful lack of action so far. It may be the lull before the storm but once again I'm not very hopeful - except where goalkeepers are concerned!”

Petrus agrees: “Is there a transfer fee for Miggy? Like ALL transfers to do with this club, they just rumble along. Rumours of various players the club are interested in are gathering momentum, with other clubs now moving in on them, whilst Mitchell is flabbergasted and exhausted from the workload. This window is shaping up like the last 2 being a waste of time.”
