Miguel Almiron transfer wait goes on with Newcastle United return pencilled in
Newcastle United have not yet received any concrete bids for Miguel Almiron despite significant interest in his services this month.
The winger has fallen out of favour on Tyneside and has subsequently been limited to just 136 minutes of football across seven games so far this term. As such, Almiron's agent continues in his bid to drum up interest in his client but so far Newcastle have not yet to accept or swat away any offers.
Charlotte FC in the MLS remain the most likely January bidder, with the North American club said to have a first refusal in the league. The club's assistant manager, Christian Fuchs, last week went on the record to discuss his side's interest.

“All I know is that once it’s signed then obviously Almiron will be a great addition to our club and I would really look forward to him joining us and playing for us."
Elsewhere, the likes of Botafogo, Santos, River Plate and Olympiakos have been linked with a move. In the Premier League, Crystal Palace have emerged as a possible location in recent days, while Fulham were interested back in the summer.
Almiron's preference would be to stay in Europe with his family and the 30-year-old is said to be in no rush to depart. Eddie Howe continues to back the former Atlanta United star, despite limiting his first-team opportunities in recent months.
Almiron's return to the starting XI looks pencilled this weekend as Howe plots FA Cup changes against League Two outfit Bromley. After a hectic set of away games against top opposition and more important Premier League ties on the horizon, fringe stars will be thrust back in from the start against the lower league side.
"We knew we would have to rotate our squad but we've got very good players that are desperate to play and desperate to show their qualities," Howe said on Friday morning. "It's a good game for them to showcase those qualities but also we have to get through so we have to pick a strong enough squad.
