Mikel Arteta confirms David Raya Arsenal injury worry before huge Man City clash
Mikel Arteta has revealed that David Raya could miss Arsenal's Premier League clash against Manchester City this weekend.
Despite travelling to Spain for the Champions League clash against Girona, he was left out of the squad with Arteta revealing it was because he was not fit. Following the 2-1, more questions were put to Arteta over his availability with the Arsenal boss suggesting he could remain absent this weekend.
"He certainly could not play, he's injured. Let's see how he improves," Arteta said in a press conference. On Neto, who would be his replacement, having made his debut against Girona, the Arsenal boss added: "I am very happy he played first of all. It's been seven months."

His lack of match action was evidenced early into the clash as former Tottenham star Arnaut Danjuma opened the scoring with a relatively easy finish around Neto after he was caught way off his line. A Jorginho penalty and Ethan Nwaneri stunner turned the game on its head with the Brazilian able to recover well later in the game.
Raheem Sterling had a chance to score his first goal for Arsenal from the 12 yards deep into added time but his penalty was saved by Pau Lopez. As a result of finishing third in the league phase, the Gunners will play one of Feyenoord, PSV, Juventus or AC Milan in the last-16.
The current focus is back on the Premier League however, with champions Manchester City as the visitors to Emirates Stadium.
With Raya a doubt to make the game, Arteta will be hoping that Neto can take confidence from his display following the error.
With the January transfer window still open, Arsenal are actively looking at attacking reinforcements with a bid for Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins rejected.
With Jhon Duran now set for a move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr, it is extremely unlikely that Villa allow Watkins to leave as well.
"I know you want to ask, I repeat what I told you: today is not the day," Villa boss Unai Emery said after his side's defeat of Celtic on Wednesday night when asked about a potential departure for Watkins.
