Mikel Arteta can finally green light transfer Arsenal desperately need - thanks to Chelsea
There are now just six days left for Arsenal - and the rest of the Premier League - to get transfer business done before the window closes until the summer.
The Gunners have been in the market for a new forward since last summer. They did make a late move to sign Raheem Sterling on loan from Chelsea on deadline day, but that transfer has not worked out as everyone might have hoped.
That came after potential moves for the likes of Benjamin Sesko, Viktor Gyokeres and Nico Williams could not get off the ground.

Now, Arsenal's need is even greater. Mikel Arteta has seen Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus go down with significant injuries in the last few weeks, leaving the Gunners light up top.
Kai Havertz comes in and out of form, while the same can be said of Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard. Beyond them there is Sterling and that's about it, unless you play Ethan Nwaneri in Saka's position.
Arteta has reiterated his desire to sign a forward, although it has to be for the "right player". It will not be a signing for the sake of making a signing. It felt a bit like Sterling was that in the summer.
Now, late on in the window, the Gunners could get the green light to sign the perfect player, all thanks to London rivals Chelsea. And it would be a bit of a kick in the teeth for the Blues too.
There are strong reports that Aston Villa are keen to sign Joao Felix from Chelsea, with the Portuguese struggling for game time at Stamford Bridge this season. Enzo Maresca has already admitted Felix's best position is in the ten, which is where Cole Palmer holds court.
Villa want to add Felix to their ranks and that could open the door for Jhon Duran to leave Villa Park. Duran shares responsibilities up front with Ollie Watkins, but there does not appear to be the option to play both of them under Unai Emery.
Villa can get big money for either player and Arsenal have emerged as candidates to sign Duran late in the January transfer window.
Chelsea were linked strongly with Duran in the summer, when they were in the market for a forward to challenge Nicolas Jackson. If the Blues let Felix go to Villa, that could open the door for Duran to leave the Midlands outift and the Gunners are primed for a late move.
Duran has 12 goals in 29 games for Villa this season, although those goals have come in just 1,043 minutes on the pitch, equating to a goal every 87 minutes. He netted five goals in just 462 minutes of Premier League football last season, which is a goal every 92.4 minutes - not a bad strike rate.
He would certainly improve Arteta's options and give Arsenal more bite in front of goal. Should Chelsea agree to a deal for Felix, Arteta could get the green light to make a late move for Duran.
