Mikel Arteta has revealed Arsenal defender Ben White may make his return from injury at some point this month.

The 27-year-old last played for the Gunners on November 10, in the 1-1 draw with Chelsea in the Premier League. The former Brighton & Hove Albion man underwent knee surgery during the November international break and has been working his way back to fitness since.

Although the Englishman will not be involved against Newcastle on Wednesday night, Arteta admitted there is hope White will be available for the trip to Leicester City on Saturday, February 15. Asked to provide the latest team news ahead of the Carabao Cup clash against the Magpies, Arteta said: "No news from the game against City and Ben is still out hopefully after the break he will be available.

"And Saka? No, not yet." Asked if Saka could return in March like previously mentioned, Arteta added: "I don't know."

The "break" Arteta references is the 10-day gap between the game at Newcastle on Wednesday and game at Leicester on February 15. The Gunners are not in FA Cup action this weekend after they were knocked out by Manchester United.

Arteta was also asked to provide an update on Bukayo Saka. The Hale Ender picked up a hamstring injury in the win over Crystal Palace in December and was forced to undergo surgery. Arteta, though, did not give much away when speaking to reporters on Tuesday. "I don't know," the Gunners boss said.
