Mikel Arteta urged to complete three-year Arsenal transfer mission by signing £115m striker
Arsenal have been told they should sign Newcastle striker Alexander Isak to solve their goalscoring woes.
The prolific striker has been on the Gunners' radar for some time now, with Mikel Arteta understood to be a huge admirer of the former Real Sociedad man. Isak, who is reportedly valued at £115million, has established himself as one of the best forwards in the Premier League since moving to the Magpies for £63million in August 2022.
His prolific goalscoring record and creativity has seen him regularly linked with a move to Arsenal, who could be in the market for a striker in January or next summer. Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus have not set the world alight in north London this campaign and some fans believe the club must sign a new No.9 in the near future.

Former Arsenal defender William Gallas believes Isak has all of the attributes to take his old side to the next level. Speaking to Prime Casino, Gallas said: "Arsenal need a striker that suits the team and Alexander Isak would be a good fit. He’s a player that is powerful, he understands the game, he’s good technically, he wants to participate.
"The problem for Arsenal is that he won’t be cheap and it might take time for him to settle. That’s why they had to do their business in the summer.
"The chance has gone now. I think not signing a striker in the summer has cost Arsenal, they would be in Liverpool’s position at the top of the table otherwise."
Isak, who Arsenal have tracked since 2021 when he was at Real Sociedad, is under contract at St James’ Park until the summer of 2028 so any potential exit is likely to be very costly. The striker was asked about his future while away on international duty with Sweden in November and speaking to Fotbal Skanalen he said: “Throughout my career, I have never talked about or really commented on the move rumours during the season.
“There have been many such years where it has been talked about. It doesn’t affect me.” When quizzed on the lack of progress in contract talks with Newcastle, the forward added: “The only thing I can say is that a lot of information and rumours often come out. Much of what I read is not true. So that’s about all I can say about the whole thing.”
