Mikey Lewis shuns Hull KR adulation after honest self-critique
Mikey Lewis was Hull KR's matchwinner but he was the first to admit that he didn't play as he would want to as Rovers got their season up and running. The reigning Man of Steel was the hero as he kicked the drop goal to secure the Robins a golden point win over a game Castleford Tigers side, who had threatened a shock win.
Lewis had a hand in three of Rovers' four tries, proving to be a menace down the left edge of the field. However, his performance also came with some errors and moments when his execution wasn't on point.
The halfback could have taken the headlines after his golden moment but in an honest assessment after the game he told Sky Sports: "I didn't play well personally.

"But a win's a win. I'll keep my head up, look at this game and we've got a quick turnaround on Thursday. It's another massive week for us. We've got to blow the cobwebs off."
Lewis also paid credit to Castleford, who had been widely written off following a poor display against Bradford Bulls that saw them knocked out of the Challenge Cup last week.
"This Castleford team, you can look at the result last Sunday and think they'd fall over but they really turned up tonight and put us in a game. We didn't play at our best personally but we dug deep and it feels good to get the win."
Before his matchwinning moment, Rhyse Martin had unsuccessfully missed a drop goal attempt, which saw Lewis gesticulate in the direction of Rovers head coach Willie Peters.
The footage was caught by the broadcasters, who asked him what he was thinking when the back-rower sliced wide.
"Good question," he said. "Willie wanted him to stand up and I back what Willie brings - it was just one of them. We'll talk about it."
