Mikolaj Oledzki makes decision on future as Leeds Rhinos face stiff competition
Mikolaj Oledzki is set to turn down rival offers to sign a new deal with Leeds Rhinos. Rugby League Live can reveal the prop will commit his future to the Headingley club in the coming days despite attracting strong interest from across the competition.
Oledzki, 26, is off-contract at the end of the season and the new rules that allow players to negotiate terms with rival clubs once they enter the last 12 months of their contract essentially placed him on the free market.
Several clubs took up the opportunity to make a play for Oledzki, who has made 157 appearances for the Rhinos so far. But now, the two-time England representative has made the decision to re-sign with Leeds, which will see him extend his stay at the club where he came through the ranks before making his first-team debut.

It's an early boost for Leeds in their quest to retain their talent. Oledzki is seen as a key component in their future and ensuring he stayed at the club had been seen as a top priority. The prop appears to be in for a big year. He was excellent in Leeds' Boxing Day victory over Wakefield Trinity and internally, he has impressed during training.
The Rhinos still have several players off-contract at the end of the year. James Bentley, Matt Frawley, Morgan Gannon, Tom Holroyd, Sam Lisone and James McDonnell are all in the final year of their existing deals.
