Of all the players Liverpool has been linked with in recent times, Milos Kerkez's name crops up more than most.

The Reds were fairly inactive with regards to new signings during the summer transfer window, signing just two new players, but Arne Slot will be keen to make improvements to his squad across the next couple of windows.

Liverpool has been linked with signing a new left-back, considering Andy Robertson turned 30 earlier this year and Kostas Tsimikas will turn 30 next season, and Kerkez is reportedly among the players under consideration.

Bayern Munich's Alphonso Davies has also been linked, but Kerkez is perhaps a more likely target and will certainly not demand the kind of wages that Davies would be after.

Kerkez, who is good friends with compatriot Dominik Szoboszlai, is believed to have been on Slot's radar when he was the manager at AZ Alkmaar, while Liverpool's sporting director, Richard Hughes, signed Kerkez for Bournemouth last year.

A move for Kerkez next summer seems more likely than a January swoop, considering the Reds have Robertson and Tsimikas at their disposal for the second half of the season, and Kerkez suggested in a recent interview with The Guardian that he has his sights set on a move to a club higher up than Bournemouth.

While he didn't explicitly say that he is eyeing a move away, the words "I believe I can make it at the top level of football" suggest that he wants to be competing in the very biggest and best competitions.

The chances of him doing that at Liverpool are infinitely higher than they are at Bournemouth, with the Reds regularly competing in the Champions League over the last decade.

Kerkez, who scored his first goal for Bournemouth last month, is said to be valued at around $50million by the Cherries.
