The mini advantage Arsenal have in Premier League title race - but only on one Man Utd condition

To many there is no longer a Premier League title race. One betting company has already paid out on Liverpool to win the league and it's easy to see why.

Arne Slot's Reds hold a clear 13-point advantage at the top of the table with only 10 games left to play. Arsenal have 11 games remaining and could cut the gap to 10 points with a win in that game in hand. But that is still quite the mountain to climb in the latter stages of the campaign.

For Arsenal, however, they will not give up without a fight until it is mathematically impossible to claim the crown. Asked after the defeat to West Ham if they had given up hope, Mikel Arteta replied: "Over my dead body.

"Mathematically it is possible. Three days ago we could close a gap and you are like 'you are one and a half games away'. The difficulty is higher than three days ago but if you are going to win the Premier League you have to do something special."

Arsenal could be on the backfoot this weekend, with Liverpool hosting rock bottom Southampton at Anfield on Saturday afternoon. They could open up a 16-point lead over the Gunners, who do not play until Sunday when they make the trip to old rivals Manchester United.

But thereafter, Arsenal have a mini advantage in the fixture list in comparison to the Reds.

Next weekend Liverpool are not in action in the Premier League because of their Carabao Cup final against Newcastle United. That is the weekend of Arsenal's game in hand - against Chelsea.

Then, after the international break, Arsenal play first in midweek - against Fulham on Tuesday. Liverpool face Merseyside rivals Everton on the Wednesday.

In the first weekend in April, Arsenal face Everton away in the Saturday lunchtime kick-off, with Liverpool away at Fulham the next day. The Gunners then play Brentford on April 12, with the Reds up against West Ham on April 13.

It continues the next weekend. Arsenal play first at 2pm on the Sunday away at Ipswich before Liverpool face Leicester at the King Power Stadium at 4.30pm. A week later, Arsenal face Palace on Saturday night, with Liverpool taking on Tottenham at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.

So, after this weekend, Arsenal play before Liverpool in each of the next six gameweeks - including one where Liverpool are not playing at all. It may be a slight advantage, but Arsenal need every little opportunity they can get if they are to chase down Slot's side and lift the crown for the first time in 21 years.
