Mohamed Salah contract latest as deal 'agreed' ahead of crucial phase in Liverpool talks
Rumors are once again swirling around the future of Mohamed Salah - and it could be good news for Liverpool fans.
Supporters are of course awaiting a decision from the Egyptian after he was offered a new contract along with Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold. As of yet, none of the trio have made a final call on their futures, with a crucial period coming up in the saga.
All three players will be able to negotiate pre-contract agreements with foreign clubs from January 1, meaning there are just six days now before they can talk to other clubs.

Reports earlier this month had suggested that Salah was on the verge of signing a new two-year deal at Liverpool, having reached a compromise with club owners FSG on the length of his new contract. Those claims came before it was widely reported that Salah, Van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold had been handed new offers, suggesting that there was still work to be done in order to tie down the 32-year-old.
However, new reports in Europe are now suggesting that Salah may have reached an agreement with the club. Spanish outlet Fichajes now claims that he has reached an agreement that will keep him at Anfield until 2028, pending official confirmation.
The report comes amid suggestions that Salah and Van Dijk are ‘very likely’ to extend their stays at Anfield, although nothing has yet been confirmed. Fans though will be eager for a positive update before the turn of the year.
Salah has already hinted that he is keen to stay at Liverpool, having expressed his disappointment at the lack of a contract offer last month while also admitting to being “more out than in”.
"You know I have been in the club for many years," he said. "There is no club like this. But in the end it is not in my hands. As I said before, it is December and I haven't received anything yet about my future.
"I love the fans. The fans love me. In the end it is not in my hands or the fans' hands. Let's wait and see. Of course [no offer is disappointing] yeah. I'm not going to retire soon so I'm just playing, focusing on the season and I'm trying to win the Premier League and hopefully the Champions League as well. I'm disappointed but we will see."
