Mohamed Salah appeared to send a message as Liverpool's title rivals went head-to-head on Sunday afternoon. Arsenal were facing Manchester City in the Premier League clash at the Emirates Stadium, a little over 24 hours after the Reds beat Bournemouth to move nine points clear at the top of the table.

Sunday saw Arsenal claim a 5-1 win over City to reduce Liverpool's lead at the top of the standings to six points, with the Reds still having a game in hand. That will change after the rearranged Merseyside derby, which is scheduled to take place on February 12 at Goodison Park.

Salah scored both of Liverpool's goals in the 2-0 win over Bournemouth on Saturday. The Egyptian now has 21 goals in the Premier League this season and 25 in all competitions, and has now sent a message on social media.

On Sunday evening, Salah posted a photo on X (formerly known as Twitter) of himself celebrating during Liverpool's win over Bournemouth. The post did not include a caption, as is usually the case when the 32-year-old takes to social media.

The post was published at 5.25pm, which was during the half-time break of Arsenal's clash against City. The Gunners were leading 1-0 at the time thanks to an early strike from captain Martin Odegaard, with second-half strikes from Thomas Partey, Miles Lewis-Skelly, Kai Havertz and Ethan Nwaneri securing the victory.

Liverpool are now not back in Premier League action until they face Everton at Goodison later this month. Before then, the Reds will take on Tottenham Hotspur in the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final before travelling to face Plymouth Argyle in the fourth round of the FA Cup next week.
