Mohamed Salah's agent set for Liverpool trip after 'no progress' with contract
Mohamed Salah's agent will be in attendance for Liverpool's clash against Manchester United this weekend.
On Friday, Salah once again reiterated that this would be his final season on Merseyside, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season. "There is no progress," Salah told Sky Sports on his expiring contract. "We are far away from any progress so we just need to wait and see."
He also said of his desire to win the Premier League this term for Liverpool: "Probably because we didn't celebrate the one we won with the club [in 2020] in the way we wanted. And also, coming back here, it's my last year in the club, so you want to do something special for the city, so that was the thing in my head."

While it looks as though it Salah believes his future at Anfield, at least publicly, is over, his agent, Ramy Abbas, is on Merseyside and set for talks with Liverpool over the Egyptian's contract. According to the ECHO, Abbas will be speaking to Liverpool over the coming days with Salah free to negotiate a move away from Anfield in the summer for free.
Should he end up leaving Liverpool, it is unclear where Salah will go. PSG has been mooted as one possible landing spot, while a host of Saudi Pro League clubs have been linked to Salah.
Asked about how he is maintaining his current levels amid all the uncertainty around his future, Salah said: "I think the thing in my head is like, 'OK, if this is your last six months or last year, what do you want to see in the future?' Do you want to look back and say, 'oh I was concerned about the contract, or I was stressed?'
"Or do I just want to say I had an unbelievable season, so that's in my head now. If I feel kind of distracted, I just remind myself, do I want to look back and say, 'oh I had an unbelievable season, and that's what I want to do.'"
He added: "It's in my head to be fair but I always try, ok if you win the trophy and you make the team win it, you're probably going to be up there. So hopefully I make the difference and make the team win the trophy. But whatever I'm going to end my career with, there is always going to be discussions.
"People will prefer Stevie G, people will prefer me, people will prefer Kenny Dalglish. So you can't control that, because people will never agree on one player, but being in that conversation is a great thing, so it's something if I look back when I came here eight years ago, I would've never dreamed of. But then you start to dream and you have ambition, and yeah things change. I'm very proud to be in that conversation."
Liverpool.com says: "Right now, no one knows how Salah's contract saga will end. It seems unthinkable he could leave Anfield with Liverpool potentially being crowned Premier League champions in May, but the reality is that could very well happen."
