Chelsea midfield duo Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez are among two of the first players to post on social media following the Boxing Day disappointment at home to Fulham. The Cottagers picked up their first win at Stamford Bridge since 1979 thanks to late goals from Harry Wilson and Rodrigo Muniz.

The Blues squandered the opportunity to apply pressure on league leaders Liverpool, and as a result of their 3-1 win over Leicester City, the Anfield club opened up a seven-point gap.

Cole Palmer fired Enzo Maresca's side to the perfect start after his solo effort handed Chelsea a first-half lead. However, they couldn't see out their lead to move to within one-point of Virgil van Dijk and co.

It was the first defeat since October's 2-0 disappointment at Newcastle United. Both Caicedo and Fernandez posted on their social media following Thursday's disappointment. Caicedo posted: "Heads up and on to the next one."

The Argentine shared an Instagram story which read: "We don't hide. On Monday (sic) again."

Speaking after the defeat, Maresca said: "It is a shame, especially in the way we lost the game in the last minute. It happened and now it is about recovering energy and ready to go again in a couple of days.

"We could have managed the game better, controlled better, but it is a game we can learn things. We have said many times we are a very, very young team but the most important thing is to see them growing and improving.

"Tomorrow we are in recovery and on Saturday we prepare for Monday's game. It is important to recover the energy. I said many times no matter if we win games or don't it is more the reality we can see inside that for many reason we are not ready [for a title challenge]. The most important thing is to see the team improve."
