Almost 1 million people tuned in to the TGL debut on ESPN

It's safe to say the debut of the TGL was a success.
The indoor simulator league, which kicked off Tuesday night when The Bay Golf Club topped New York Golf Club, had an average viewership of 919,000 people, per Nielsen, which was almost double the PGA Tour's final round broadcast of the The Sentry at 461,000.

TGL didn't come on air until 9 p.m., and neither Tiger Woods nor Rory McIlroy's teams were playing.
TGL's debut was widely talked about on social media Tuesday night, and for good reason. The league's first broadcast and match was deemed an overall success. Now, it's time to see how the league grows and evolves as the inaugural season rolls on.
