Moses Itauma could be set for Liverpool showdown
Heralded as the next ‘big thing’ in heavyweight boxing, Moses Itauma could be set to continue his undefeated run in Liverpool on March 15.
Headlined by Nick Ball’s title defence vs TJ Doheny, Itauma’s introduction to the undercard would certainly bolster line-up.
The 20-year-old prodigy has been dominating the boxing world in recent months. Known for his slick movement and terrifying punch power, Itauma will hope to resume his fine form at Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena.

Speaking on the Ariel Helwani Show, the Slovakian-born, British boxer said: “Mid-March is what I’ve been told. In Liverpool.”
Itauma added: “Literally just before I jumped on this call, I was talking with my team to see who the next victim is, but we don’t know yet. We’re going to call out a couple of names, and who accepts the fight, accepts the fight.”
Recently crowned Ring Magazine’s Prospect of the Year, the heavyweight impressed on the Usyk vs Fury 2 undercard, securing a KO victory against Demsey McKean – his ninth victory via stoppage.
Also in attendance at the Ring Magazine awards was featherweight champion, Nick Ball. Nominee for the Comeback of the Year Award, Ball will return to Liverpool to face Irishman, TJ Doheny in March.
Ball successfully defended his WBA title in October, in a spectacular clash vs Ronny Rios. The Kirkby fighter has gained many plaudits for his gutsy display, knocking Rios down 3 times to gain a KO victory.
With both Ball and Itauma set to feature on the bill, the eyes of the world will be looking to Liverpool, where the future of boxing looks bright.
In a press conference last month, Ball said: “It’s good to be fighting back in Liverpool, where boxing should be. It’s exciting times.”
Ball’s fight with Doheny will mean back-to-back defences at the M&S Bank. He added: “I’m made up to be headlining again in my home city.”
The event will be co-headlined by British and commonwealth champion, Andrew Cain, vs European Champion, Charlie Edwards in a bantamweight clash. The bumper-card will act as an advert for the city’s boxing heritage, with Andrew Cain also fighting out of Liverpool.
