Liverpool are set to pocket tens of millions of pounds as Arne Slot's side continue to impress in the new-fangled Champions League format. The 36-team league table has already thrown up several surprises, with one final game still to play before we know all of the teams that will gain automatic qualification to the round of 16 and who will have to play a knock-out round play-off in February.

The Reds boast the only perfect record so far, winning seven in seven outings, and have already ensured their inclusion in the last 16. Slot's side travel to the Netherlands on Wednesday (January 29) to face PSV in their final league-stage match.

Elsewhere, the side have defeated Real Madrid, AC Milan and Xabi Alonso's Bayer Leverkusen comfortably. It has earned the club a pretty penny as they prepare to bolster ranks in the winter transfer window and beyond.

But, how much could Liverpool be set to bank from this tournament? Let's have a look...

Champions League prize money

  • Winner: £21m

  • Runner-up: £15.6m

  • Semi-finalists: £12.6m

  • Quarter-finalists: £10.5m

  • Round of 16: £9.3m

  • Reaching knockout round play-off: £843k

  • League-phase wins: £1.77m

  • League-phase draws: £590k

So far, £12.4 million has found its way to Anfield off the back of the club's seven European wins - this would rise to £14.2 million if they were to beat PSV. The Reds also received a payment of £15.3 million for qualifying for the competition proper.

On top of that, a total of £8.2m is on offer if they can top the league. Finally, a further payment of £9m is handed out to teams who qualify for the Last 16 inside the top eight.

Combing this leaves the Reds with more than £46million before playing a knockout fixture.

If Liverpool, who also remain top of the Premier League and in both domestic cup competitions, were to go all the way in Europe in Slot's first season they would then they could collect a windfall of £69.2 million for winning all knockout games.

More than £115 million is up for grabs if the club can capture Europe's flagship trophy for the seventh time.
