How much Luke Littler earned after winning World Darts Championship against Michael Van Gerwen
Luke Littler has kicked off the New Year by pocketing £500,000 after he beat Michael van Gerwen 7-3 in the PDC World Darts Championship final on Friday night.
The 17-year-old booked his place in a second successive World Championship final at Alexandra Palace by beating Stephen Bunting in the last four to set up a blockbusting clash with Van Gerwen. The Dutchman had spent a lot of 2024 telling his fellow players on the PDC Tour that there was no reason to be scared of Littler. However, here, he was simply outclassed by the teenager.
Victory for Littler caps a stunning 12 months at the oche and cements his position at the top of the sport, having finished second in the BBC Sports Personality of the Year vote and being the most Googled UK sportsperson of 2024. And below is a breakdown of how much each player picked up as a result of their runs to the final.
