PRIZE money is not Luke ‘The Nuke’ Littler’s main motivation for winning, but staggering earnings are on the line in tonight’s PDC World Darts Championship Final.

Eye-popping amounts of cash rewards are up for grabs in darts competitions at the top level, but none more so than in the sport’s greatest event – with Warrington 17-year-old Littler meeting Dutch star Michael van Gerwen in the blockbuster decider at Alexandra Palace in London.

In a total prize fund of £2.5m, even those who started out in the final 96 were set to take home a minimum £7,500.

Tonight’s finalists will benefit most, as you would expect.

Win or lose, a handsome financial enhancement will appear in Littler’s and Van Gerwen’s bank account this evening.

The winner will take home a cool £500,000, while the runner-up will collect £200,000.

Littler simply loves playing the game and winning trophies - the earnings that come with it is the cherry on the top!
