Nottingham Forest are hopeful defender Murillo suffered nothing more than a dead leg against Brighton and Hove Albion.

The centre-back was substituted in the 72nd minute of the Reds’ stunning 7-0 victory over the Seagulls at the City Ground. He received treatment on the pitch before being replaced by Willy Boly.

Forest are not in Premier League action again until they make the trip to face Fulham on February 15. They are away to Exeter City in the FA Cup before then (on the 11th), with head coach Nuno Espirito Santo likely to make changes to his side for that fourth round tie.

“Murillo went off with a dead leg, we think that was the problem. But we think he is going to be okay,” Nuno said after the final whistle Trentside.

In addition to claiming a big three points in the lunchtime kick-off, Forest also welcomed back long-term absentees Danilo and Ibrahim Sangare in the league. The former was included in the XI for his first start since he broke his ankle on the opening day of the campaign. And for fellow midfielder Sangare, it was his first appearance since August after recovering from a hamstring injury.

“It was great to see him back,” Nuno said of Danilo. “He made a couple of mistakes. But that was due to the long period of him not being involved.

“But overall he looked comfortable in the game. It was good to see Ibrahim get some minutes as well.

“It is important to get them back into the squad because we have been missing them. We have good options in midfield. I am confident that they can help us.”

Chris Wood bagged a hat-trick against the Seagulls as the Reds recorded their biggest ever Premier League victory. Morgan Gibbs-White, Neco Williams and Jota Silva also got on the scoresheet, while a Lewis Dunk own goal had broken the deadlock.
