Naby Keita offers brutally honest verdict of Arne Slot and Liverpool - 'wait and see'
Naby Keita has weighed in on whether or not Liverpool could lift the Premier League trophy this season. Although their lead has narrowed in recent weeks, the Reds remain at the top of the table with a comfortable cushion as the festive period approaches.
Following Jurgen Klopp ’s departure over the summer, many were skeptical about Liverpool’s ability to adapt. Yet, Arne Slot has navigated the transition incredibly well and has been aided by the abundance of quality within the Liverpool squad.
However the former Reds midfielder believes the current first-team is a long way from Klopp's title winning squad from the 2019/20 season.

After 15 games this season, Slot's side have 36 points which sees them two points clear with a game in hand. At the same point in 19/20, the Reds had 43 points and didn't drop a point for a further 12 games during the Covid disrupted season.
When Keita was asked by Bleacher Report whether he believes Slot’s Liverpool side measures up to the 99-point team four years ago, he couldn't help but smile.
“Oh my friend, I know they are a good team, they have a lot of young players there. But for me we are the best of all time!” says the 29-year-old.
When asked his opinion on the Dutch coach, Keita added: "I think he’s a good manager because he started well, but we will wait until the end of the season and we will see.”
Keita featured just 18 times for the Reds in 19/20 after injury issues plagued his season. Since leaving Liverpool, things haven't gone to plan. The Guinean international made just five appearances after joining Werder Bremen in 2023 after struggling with injury.
The 29-year-old was also suspended for part of the season after it was claimed the midfielder refused to travel for a Bundesliga fixture against Bayer Leverkusen. Keita has since joined Ferencvaros but has yet to make an appearance for the Hungarian side.
