“FIFA and Netflix partnering together makes this a truly historic day for broadcasting and for women’s football,” his statement continues. “Besides broadcasting the tournaments themselves, Netflix will play a key role in terms of bringing the fascination of women’s football to a multimillion audience in the lead-up to both final tournaments, thereby enabling us to further increase their appeal.”

Per Netflix, FIFA coverage will include a dual English and Spanish-language broadcasts in the U.S., as well as studio shows with top-tier talent. Netflix will also produce exclusive documentary content in the lead-up to both tournaments that spotlights “the world’s top players, their journeys, and the global growth of women’s football.”

As previously announced, the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup will be hosted in Brazil, from June 24 to July 25, and feature the 32 best teams from across the globe competing across 12 cities.

The FIFA deal comes one month after Netflix’s Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight, five days out from the NFL’s streaming-only, Christmas Day double-header (with a Beyoncé halftime show), and less than three weeks out from the streaming debut of WWE Monday Night Raw (on Jan. 6).
