Netflix Scores U.S. Rights To FIFA Women’s World Cup In “Historic” Deal
Netflix is doubling down on live sport by inking a landmark deal to stream the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The streaming service has scored U.S. rights to the 2027 and 2031 installments of the soccer tournament. It is the first time Netflix has bought up a sports competition in full.

Netflix Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria said: “Bringing this iconic tournament to Netflix isn’t just about streaming matches, it’s also about celebrating the players, the culture and the passion driving the global rise of women’s sport.”
FIFA President Gianni Infantino added: “Netflix has shown a very strong level of commitment to growing women’s football. This agreement sends a strong message about the real value of the FIFA Women’s World Cup and the global women’s game.”
Netflix will support the live coverage of every game with exclusive documentary series, spotlighting the world’s top players, their journeys, and the global growth of women’s football.

The 2027 World Cup takes place in Brazil after last year’s tournament in Australia and New Zealand. Spain won the competition while USA was knocked out by Sweden in the round of 16.
