'We never do this' - Son Heung-min outlines two things Tottenham must change after Arsenal loss
Tottenham captain Son Heung-min has called on his teammates to "step up" and "take more responsibility" after their dismal run in the Premier League continued on Wednesday evening. After recording back-to-back wins against Liverpool and Tamworth in the Carabao Cup and FA Cup respectively, Spurs were once again on the losing side in the league as they slipped to a 2-1 defeat at Arsenal.
Son did open the scoring with a deflected effort on 25 minutes, before a Dominic Solanke own goal and Leandro Trossard's strike just prior to half-time sealed the win for the Gunners. It means that Spurs sit 13th in the Premier League table after 21 games having lost 11 times this campaign.
There is even the possibility that Tottenham go into Sunday's game at Everton in 15th as Crystal Palace and Manchester United have the chance to leapfrog them prior to the 2pm kick-off on Merseyside. Speaking in his post-match press conference, Ange Postecoglou said that his team were "too passive" in the first half and he made it clear that their results and form in the Premier League "needs to change".

Son also gave this thoughts on the North London Derby defeat when speaking to SPURSPLAY after the game, with the South Korean also indicating that the team were "too passive".
"The manager spoke to us as well [at half time]. I think we were way too passive, which we never play like this," he admitted. “That’s why it’s frustrating more. You just realise why, especially when you go ahead away from home, you have to practice these results. It’s really frustrating. What can I say? It’s just a very, very painful night.”
As Tottenham's captain, Son was then asked what he is saying to the players right now as they bid to find a way out of their recent slump.
"I can’t speak highly enough of the boys for the work rate and commitment. It’s 100 per cent there," he said. "But in the game there, including me, we have to step up, and those days are not important what age you are, experience or inexperience, I think it’s not important. You play for the club and the badge and have to take more responsibility.
"I have been here 10 years, never been in this position, so we are going to have to just make sure everybody is ready for the weekend. With wins we'll take confidence and winning ways back which is very important at the moment."
