How Newcastle supporters can get to Wembley for 2025 Carabao Cup Final amid train trouble fears
Newcastle United fans are facing possible travel disruption ahead of the Carabao Cup final next month. The Magpies have booked their place in March's showpiece at Wembley following a 4-0 aggregate win over Arsenal.
After a 2-0 success in the first leg at the Emirates last month, Eddie Howe's side backed that up to produce another excellent performance and beat the Gunners 2-0 again. Jacob Murphy put Newcastle in front in the 19th minute and eased the nerves at St James' Park, before Anthony Gordon added a second in the second half.
The Magpies could have scored more but it didn't matter as they sealed their spot in the Carabao Cup final for the second time in three years. Howe's side will face Tottenham or Liverpool at Wembley.

With the Magpies now facing a weekend trip to London, Chronicle Live have looked at the possible travel options for Newcastle fans to consider heading to the Carabao Cup final on Sunday, March 16th.
Train
Newcastle fans are expected to face travel disruption when using the train during the weekend of the Carabao Cup final. The problem has been caused due to engineering works taking place between Darlington and Eaglescliffe closing all lines. This will affect LNER services from Newcastle to London Kings Cross.
It means that delays of up to an hour will be expected and replacement buses will be in operation. National Rail stated: "Buses replace trains between Leeds / York / Durham and Newcastle, and between Bishop Auckland and Eaglescliffe on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 March."
Fans that are hoping to travel on Friday, March 14 are not anticipated to be impacted
Flight
Should Newcastle fans want to travel to London via airplane, there are a number of different routes they can take. If they are hoping to go for a weekend (Friday-Monday), there are several British Airways flights - expected to take around one hour and 30 minutes - that can take you to and from Newcastle Airport and London Heathrow.
For example, there are four direct flights on Friday, March 14 from Newcastle to Heathrow, with a further three following on Saturday. If you were hoping to go on the Sunday morning, there is one flight - leaving at 9:30 - which should (unless there are any delays) make you get there in time for kick-off.
Regarding the outbound flight back to Newcastle, there are six direct flights on Monday, March 17 from Heathrow to Newcastle. 6:20, 7:00, 10:35, 14:35, 18:10 and 19:45 are those departing from Heathrow and heading to Newcastle on that day, while there are a further SEVEN on Tuesday, March 18.

There are 12 different coaches running on Friday, March 14, should supporters want to travel on that day. This includes nine direct services - approximately taking seven hours and 55 minutes to get to London. There is a further 12 different National Express coaches set to run on Saturday, March 15.
Looking at getting back from London to Newcastle, fans can expect 13 running National Express coaches on Monday, March 17. The coaches - that call at several places including Durham and Darlington - are set to take anywhere between seven hours and nine hours to get back via the direct routes.
Car
Fans may decide not to use public transport and get there via car. While routes could change depending on traffic and road closes throughout the weekend, the most common journey from Newcastle to London is down the A1M and then the A1 or using the M1 when arriving near Leeds.
