Newcastle United to activate clause in transfer deal, 'irresistible' interest and Dubravka twist
Newcastle United continue to be linked with a number of transfer deals as we go through the second week of the window. Eddie Howe's side are yet to do any transfer business with the focus this month on departures in an attempt to alleviate any PSR fears.
If the Magpies are able to offload fringe players this month, they could dip into the market to reinforce their squad. Howe's men are in a good position to kick on when they return to Premier League action in a weeks time, with an FA Cup clash against Bromley this weekend.
The game against League Two opposition will allow Howe to rotate his squad, and rest some important players. Newcastle are just one point outside the top-four and reinforcements this month will only strengthen that push.

Magpies interest in Boca star 'generating uncertainty'
Newcastle have a reported interest in 23-year-old Boca Juniors star Kevin Zenon, according to Epoca. The winger played 34 times in the Argentine Primera Division in 2024, scoring four goals and notching five assists.
The report claims the Magpies' interest has cause a 'wave of concern' among the Juniors faithful with Newcastle scouts said to have watched Zenon in action. The report claims the stature of the Toon would make Zenon 'seriously consider' his options, with the final decision down to the player.
Interestingly, there's nothing in the report regarding a transfer fee but states an offer from Newcastle could be 'irresistible.'
Newcastle could activate clause in midfielder's deal
Newcastle are reportedly looking to activate a recall clause in Jamie Miley's loan agreement with League Two side Newport County before selling the youngster on a permanent deal. That's according to Pete O'Rourke, who says a number of League One and League Two clubs are keen on his signature.
Miley, who is the older brother of fellow midfielder Lewis, has made eight appearances in all competitions for the Welsh outfit this season, including six in League Two. Despite featuring heavily for the Magpies in pre-season, Howe's side are said to be looking to cash in on the midfielder this month.
Martin Dubravka deal 'far from certain'
The Daily Telegraph's Luke Edwards claims Martin Dubravka's future is far from certain, despite links with Al Shabab this month. The Slovakian shot stopper is in the final year of his Magpies' contract and is said to have agreed terms with the Saudi Arabian club.
Despite agreeing personal terms, Newcastle are yet to strike and agreement with Al Shabab. The 35-year-old appeared to wave farewell to the black and white faithful after the 2-0 win over Arsenal in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg, with reports claiming that could be his last game for the club.
However, despite an emotional goodbye, Edwards says that may have been premature with a deal still not agreed.
