Newcastle United avoid big guns in FA Cup to set up date with NFL legend Tom Brady
Newcastle United must travel to League One Birmingham City in the FA Cup fourth round.
A trip to the third-tier table toppers and third-flight promotion favourites comes next for Eddie Howe's side and is their reward for seeing off Bromley. The Magpies have not faced the Blues since 2017, when they drew 0-0 in the Championship, but this game is a rerun of the FA Cup third round in 2017 when a 1-1 draw took place at St Andrews before Newcastle needed a replay to get through to the last 32.
The draw was made directly after Arsenal's defeat to Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium and made by Martin Keown and Mark Schwarzer. Whether Howe will be able to make as many changes in the next round and get through remains to be seen.

Speaking after the third round encounter Howe said: "You have to understand the dynamic. We made a lot of changes, and a lot of those players haven’t had the football that you want them to have, so they’re not really in their best rhythm.
"You have to understand that, but we wanted to get through and win the game, and the players’ attitude has to be right.
"If the attitude is not right, you won’t get through. We always pride ourselves on that, and I thought the lads responded really well. It wasn’t a perfect performance from us, we’re not deluded and we know we can do a lot better. But we showed the mental qualities needed, and we had enough quality to get through."
The Birmingham tie will take place over the weekend of 8 February, meaning the Blues' EFL League One fixture against Peterborough United will be postponed and the tie takes place three days after the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Arsenal.
