Newcastle United Carabao Cup semi-final first leg venue confirmed as Jamie Redknapp makes prediction
Newcastle United will face Arsenal in the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup - with Wembley potentially just 180 minutes away now.
The draw - made by former Liverpool duo Jamie Carragher and Jamie Redknapp - saw the Magpies plucked out to face the Gunners. The ties will be contested on the week commencing January 6th and February 3rd and the first leg will be at the Emirates Stadium.
Redknapp said: "For Newcastle and Tottenham, it feels like this would change so many things for them. Eddie Howe has done such a great job at Newcastle, but to get that trophy they have been crying out for it so long up there. It is an exciting draw."

Carragher said: "Tottenham and Newcastle will pick a team where everybody is in where Liverpool and Arsenal may make changes."
Newcastle have already beaten Arsenal twice in the last couple of seasons at St James' Park but their record at the Emirates Stadium is not so good, winning just once there since the new ground opened in 2006.
The Magpies booked their place in the last four by seeing off Brentford in a 3-1 win thanks to goals from Sandro Tonali (2) and Fabian Schar. Newcastle will be without Schar and Bruno Guimaraes in the first leg of the semi-final after the pair reached the limit for yellow cards.
The final showpiece will take place at Wembley Stadium on March 16 with the kick off time yet to be confirmed. Newcastle have twice ventured to the final, losing to Manchester City in 1976 and enduring a defeat to Manchester United in 2023.
