Newcastle United complete deal for exciting prospect and beat two rival clubs to signature
Newcastle United are expected to unveil the signing of exciting Republic of Ireland youth international Kyle Fitzgerald tomorrow.
That is the date set for Fitzgerald's official arrival at the club after completing a move from Galway. The deal will be done on the youngster's 18th birthday.
The Toon's scouting network are excited about Fitzgerald's potential after he already represented Ireland youth teams from under 15s through to under 19 levels. He is a left-footed talent that has plenty of pace and reserve team and youth side watchers will be eager to see him make his black and white bow.

Academy chief Steve Harper is on the look out for more signings like Fitzgerald with the former Hull and Newcastle goalkeeper not only eager to hoover up local talent on Tyneside, but also find hidden gems that may have been missed by the traditional top four.
Harper said last year: "Look, I could clog up the U18s and U21s with 21-year-old players and compete at the top of Premier League 2 but that’s running it for me and making it results-driven.
"Instead what will be done here, what will be our mantra from now on, is to give opportunities younger. You will notice our U21s team will be 16, 17 and 18 year olds. It will be accelerated learning and they’ll be stretched. There will be some tough experiences along the way, but that is where resilience comes from."
In landing Fitzgerald Newcastle beat Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brighton & Hove Albion to the punch for the future Eire international. Fitzgerald has already made his debut for Galway at senior level and has been capped by the Republic of Ireland at youth level. The hope for Fitzgerald is to follow in the footsteps of Alex Murphy who also signed from the Irish club at 18.
Murphy is yet to make his debut for Bolton Wanderers after signing on loan last week. He watched on as Bolton boss Ian Evatt parted company with the Trotters just 48 hours after signing the youngster and he did not get off the bench for the 1-0 win over Huddersfield Town on Saturday. Club legend Julian Darby has been placed in caretaker charge while the League One play-off hopefuls look to tie down a new boss.
