Newcastle United 'offered' Douglas Luiz, wild Sandro Tonali claim and Tyler Dibling boost
Newcastle United have been linked with a Premier League star that only headed to Italy last summer for £43million.
Sources close to Brazil international Douglas Luiz have dismissed suggestions that the Juventus star has been offered to Newcastle United.
The 26-year-old former Aston Villa man was mooted as a potential swap for Sandro Tonali by Tuttojuve.com but Newcastle have already made it clear to both Juve and AC Milan that they weren't interested in offloading their number 6. Italian transfer market commentator Ciro Venerato said: "Juventus tried to buy Tonali by sending Douglas Luiz to Newcastle, but the offer was rejected. Now the two clubs continue to talk about Kelly, another Juventus target."

Luiz, who is part of the same agency as Bruno Guimaraes, joined Juventus from Aston Villa for £50m and is pushing for a January move just months into his Serie A adventure. Luiz has also been linked with Manchester City for a loan deal, the club he spent part of his early career with.
Juventus would love to land Tonali, of course, but the midfielder's success story at St James' Park this season is there for all to see. Juve might get Kelly if they conjure up the right price but Tonali is not for sale.
Southampton resistance could favour Newcastle
The word from the South Coast is that Southampton don't want to part with Tyler Dibling in the current window. RB Leipzig are keen on the 18-year-old but the plan is for the Saints to hold on to their prize youngster.
Dibling's situation could change at the end of the season with Southampton classed as near certainties for the drop. But any delay in January would allow Newcastle to spend in the summer when the grip of PSR should have lessened.
The teenager is no stranger to Newcastle scouts after scoring a hat-trick at St James' Park in front of club chiefs back in 2022 for the Under-21s. That night, Newcastle bosses ordered the backroom team to take an immediate look into Dibling's background, but the Magpies were eventually pipped by Chelsea.
However, Dibling, then just 17, could not settle in London and he moved back to his youth team club Southampton. Since then he has settled down on the South Coast and has made 36 top-flight appearances, scoring nine times and making five assists.
Garang Kuol loan decision due
Newcastle's 20-year-old has been back in the goals with the second string this past week, netting in the 4-2 loss at Southampton and a penalty in the 4-2 win over Gateshead in the National Cup.
But the left winger will be 21 next autumn and the truth is he should be nearer to senior action. Not helped by poor loan moves to Hearts and Volendam, Kuol is facing a big few months with loan options being drawn up by Shola Ameobi.
